35 years of KAGER: a perspective from 2024
At its 35th anniversary in July 2024, KAGER looked back on individual architecture and technical development. More than 1500 families then lived in its homes across Europe.

In July 2024, KAGER HIŠA marked its 35th anniversary by looking back on its development, technical innovation and individual timber construction. Three and a half decades formed a milestone on a path connecting architecture, craft and the way clients live.
Origins and technical development
The founding vision was to create high-quality prefabricated homes with energy-conscious design and thoughtful architecture. Development focused on improving construction techniques and lasting solutions. The first house already reflected the aim of making timber construction accessible and useful over the long term.
Over the decades, we invested in technologies, materials and construction details. The aim is to bring together energy efficiency, durability, comfort and thoughtful use of resources. In a bespoke timber-and-glass home, these decisions shape the whole design, from structure to living spaces.
Architecture tailored to the client
Adaptability was presented as a central feature of KAGER’s approach. Clients could choose architectural styles, materials and layouts, with the design responding to their wishes and needs. Different solutions allow homes to relate to urban and rural settings, subject to the specific plot and its requirements.
Insulation and coordinated technical systems are important parts of a home’s energy design. Actual running costs depend on the complete project, location and use. Materials, architecture and building services are therefore considered together as connected parts of the living environment.
Families, experience and looking ahead
At the 35th anniversary in 2024, more than 1500 families across Europe lived in KAGER homes. Their experiences show how architectural and technical choices translate into everyday living over time. The relationship with clients connects the planning of a new home to its long-term use.
At the anniversary, we emphasised continued investment in innovation, development and client satisfaction. Our vision connected aesthetics, function and lasting quality with homes designed around their occupants. This was the outlook at the 2024 milestone.
