On a hillside above Lake Maggiore stands a bespoke timber villa designed with a clear orientation towards the sun and the views. Its architecture combines bioclimatic principles, natural materials and carefully considered technical solutions that ensure a high level of comfort throughout the year.
Large glazed surfaces open up views of the lake and surrounding landscape, while timber, stone and shading elements create a balanced relationship between architecture and nature.
The house is oriented along a north–south axis, with large south-facing glazing using solar gains to heat the rooms in winter. In summer, carefully positioned shading elements and brise-soleil protect against overheating.
A distinctive feature is the central ventilation tower, designed according to the principles of bioclimatic architecture. Working with the underground part of the house, the tower enables natural air circulation and effective summer cooling without compromising comfort.
Stone columns, large covered terraces, an outdoor pool and broad balconies complete the architecture. They extend the living space into the surroundings and emphasise the connection with the exceptional setting above the lake.
